Catch of the Month - April 2007

On behalf of the recent Leader in Me program members I would like to nominate Linda Cundiff for Catch of the Month. She has done such a wonderful job in organizing this program. Linda is truly a leader we can all learn from, and respect. I am including some of the statements I received about Linda in hopes that everyone will have the opportunity to tell Linda how they feel about her. We can’t wait to see the happiness and joy on Linda’s face when she is listening to this nomination. She has brought a smile to everyone’s face that was in attendance, and we just wanted to give a smile back!

  • I just started working at Lone Star College-Kingwood as full time in January of this year.  When I met Linda she made me feel so welcomed.  She always has a smile on her face and that is so inviti ng.  She was great as Coordinator in Leader In Me – she just made everything fun…
  • She did a great job w/ Leader in Me.  She is always so friendly and has a smile on her face! I really enjoyed being in the Leader in Me group w/her.

  • She has done a fabulous job with organizing the Leader in Me program.  For those of us who are new to Lone Star College-Kingwood, Linda is welcoming and gracious - a friendly face in the crowd.  I appreciate her pleasant disposition and warm manner.  I look forward to getting to know her a little better.

  • I would like to nominate Linda Cundiff for a FISH award. Linda did an outstanding job with the Leader in Me program. She stepped up to the plate after Debra Blackburn left and proved, once again, that she is a winner. The presenters for the Leader in Me were informative and Linda created a positive learning environment for each session. Linda is an inspiration to us all and is an excellent role model for her fellow employees.

  • I think Linda deserves the "Fish" Award because she has done such an outstanding job of directing the "Leader In Me" Seminars. She accepted the responsibility after Debra Blackburn left the college. Every time we met for the seminar, we had a lot of fun, and Linda had everything ready when we got to the room. Sometimes Linda would surprise us with breakfast tacos from Papa's BBQ (Yummy). The last "Leader In Me" she couldn't attend because she was in the hospital. We enjoyed the speaker & the lunch, which Linda reserved in advance....catered from Italiano's in Humble (another yummy), but it wasn't as pippy as it would have been with Linda there.

  • I do not personally know Linda. The short amount of time we were in Leader in Me is really the only time I have ever been around her. I will say that she always speaks to me and is very pleasant. The breakfast tacos alone should get her fish of the month.

  • Linda made the Leader in Me FUN, FUN, FUN!!! She is enthusiastic, helpful, supportive, and goes out of her way to make sure EVERYONE is included part of the team!

  • I did not know what to expect when I was asked to participate in the Leader In Me program because of my previous experiences with similar seminars/workshops.  My expectations and reservations changed the first day that I met Linda.  She has been a great inspiration for what a leader should be.  She made our experience as pain less as possible and made learning a positive experience.  I always looked forward to our next meeting and her wonderful personality.  Her personality never seems to amaze me, especially the fact that she cheerfully expresses her friendship every time she sees us around campus.  She also has that motherly instinct that nurtures us when she sees we are having a bad day.  She truly deserves to be nominated for the Catch of the Month because she represents everything that a Lone Star College-Kingwood employee should be.
