LVN Application Extented
We have extended the LVN application to May 15, 2008.
Please note: The Lone Star College System Nursing Admissions Committee has removed the rule on applicants' being ineligible for admission due to repeating biology courses more than one time in five years. Students with multiple courses in Anatomy & Physiology will be considered for admission, and the course with the highest grade will be used in the ranking process. The 5 year rule remains in effect for all required biology courses, which must be completed within five years of the application deadline. Review courses are available through Community Education, or students may choose to repeat a course for a higher grade. BIOL 2404 Introductory Anatomy & Physiology may also be used as a review course if taken within five years of application. Older biology courses will be considered in the ranking process if the review courses have been completed before the application deadline.

HEPATITIS B IMMUNIZATIONS
Please Note: Texas Department of Health is mandating that all health professions students complete the Hepatitis B immunization series prior to beginning direct patient care or show confirmation of immunity to Hepatitis B virus. Applicants to the nursing programs are urged to begin this series as soon as possible, as it takes six months to complete all of the immunizations. (1st immunization, 2nd one is one month later, 3rd is 6 months after the 1st). We ask students to have this completed before classes begin. If need be, the student can take the fast track series (1st immunization, 2nd one is one month later, 3rd is another month later after 2nd and 4th booster at one year from the first. Students begin their clinical rotations during the first week of the nursing program.
