Information Technology Services

Information Technology Services works to provide reliable and efficient technology resources to the Lone Star College-Kingwood community. We provide the computing resources necessary to support the academic mission of Lone Star College-Kingwood.

We are here in the following capacities:

  • To provide hardware and software support for the more than 500 machines across campus.
  • To assist personnel in getting information on pricing and new equipment available from our certified vendors.
  • To maintain the instructional labs by installing and configuring software each semester.
  • To provide help in instructional design and assistance for Distance Learning classes on the Internet, by video or telecourse.
  • To select and design proper wiring for voice mail and data transfer across the campus and the world.
The Service Desk is located in suite CLA 119 at Lone Star College-Kingwood, where we have standardized equipment and software on our administrative servers to provide better service for our customers. We use Dell Corporate Certified desktop machines and Microsoft Office Suite on Novell 6.5 servers. All of our academic labs and offices have access to the Internet. We offer students e-mail addresses and remote access to e-mail using the Internet.
