Admissions Process
If you are new to the Lone Star College System, you will begin with the admissions process. The steps are listed below with detailed instructions:
Submit an Admissions Application
The
admissions application is available online. Students new to Lone Star College System or students who have not attended within one year will be required to complete an application. You can also download a .pdf of the application and fax to 281.312.1477 or bring to SFA 115.
Submit documentation of THEA status or take THEA test
All students enrolling in a Texas public institution must take the THEA or THEA-Alternative test or be otherwise exempt
Submit transcripts or evidence of completing GED
An official High School/College Transcript (sealed) must be mailed or brought to the admissions office. If the institution(s) is equipped to transmit the transcript electronically, Lone Star College System will receive it quickly, and advisors across the district will have electronic access to it in order to assist the student. Students with a GED must submit an official copy of the GED Score Report showing that they have successfully completed all sections of the test.
Document Residency
Documentation for in-district/out-of-district residency must be provided (valid Texas Driver's License, lease agreement, voter registration card etc.)
Meet with Advisor
All new or transfer students must meet with a counselor or advisor before he/she registers for classes
Complete Degree Plan
Students who are currently enrolled may complete a degree plan request in the admissions office at each college. Official transcripts of all previous work, bearing the college seal and appropriate official's signature, are required before the request is processed.
