State Sponsored Programs
Financial aid programs funded by the state available to students attending postsecondary schools in Texas include:
• The Texas Public Educational Grant Program which assists financially needy students attending one of the state's public colleges or universities. Awards generally range from $100 to $2,000 per year.
• The Student Incentive Grant Program funded through a mix of state and federal funds which helps students attending any of the state's public colleges or universities. Awards at Lone Star College System range from $200 to $1,000 per year.
• Early High School Graduation Scholarship Program for eligible students attending a public college or university or non-profit independent institution. Students who plan to use this scholarship need to submit a registration statement to the Financial Aid office.
• Texas Grant Program designed for well prepared eligible students to attend public and private non-profit colleges and universities.
