Dr. Stegall received her Bachelor’s in Business Administration, Masters in Business Education, and Doctorate in Education from the University of North Texas in Denton. She also studied at Sam Houston State University and the University of Texas – Austin.
She has served as President of Lone Star College-Kingwood since August 1999. Prior to coming to Lone Star College-Kingwood, she was Vice Chancellor for Education and Student Development for the Lone Star College System, a role she fulfilled for 5 years. She previously worked for the Dallas County Community College District for seventeen years. In Dallas she served as Vice President of Instruction at El Centro College and Mt. View College for twelve years and as District Director of Occupational Education for five years.
She is a member of a number of professional and community organizations. They include the Humble Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, the Humble Intercontinental Rotary Board of Directors, the Kingwood Medical Center Board, YMCA Advisory Board, and the Kingwood Pops Orchestra Board. At the State level, she is a member of the Texas Skills Standards Board and the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board’s Formula Advisory Committee. She serves on the American Association of Community Colleges Commission for Workforce and Economic Development. She is actively involved with the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Accreditation process where she has served as chair of reaccredidation teams.
