Endowed Scholarships
Steps to Establishing an Endowed Scholarship:
The Foundation may establish endowments (named and planned) on behalf of contributors for the purpose of providing scholarships for students of Lone Star College System and for other purposes that are consistent with the mission of the Foundation. These endowed scholarships in the donors' names are in perpetuity and given annually.
- The donor will execute an endowment agreement with the Lone Star College System Foundation to create a legal framework for the endowment.
- Initial contribution by a donor to a named endowment must equal or exceed $1,000.
- Contributions toward a named endowment of more than $1,000 and less than $15,000 will be denoted as a planned endowment.
- A donor has seven years to reach the $15,000 named endowment activation amount.
- A donor may contribute to his/her endowment through a variety of means, direct contributions, support for special events (actual costs associated with event participation will be deducted), memorials, honorariums, etc.
- Endowments shall be named for private individuals, corporations and organizations, in memory of individuals and in honor of individuals.
- Representatives of the Lone Star College System Foundation will work to execute an endowment agreement, designed with or without criteria (stipulations, demographics, college or colleges attended, academic standing, academic programs, etc.) as requested.
