Catch of the Month - July 2005

JoAnn Szabo -- keepin' the dream alive!
I would like to nominate JoAnn Szabo for Catch of the Month for July, because she has accomplished something quite incredible!!
Have you seen our new Lone Star College-Kingwood Art Car? It made its public debut in the Kingwood 4th of July parade, where it attracted much attention and many positive comments. While the Art Car project was a committee effort beginning in January 2005, most of us got caught up in work, teaching, taking classes, extracurricular activities, and personal distractions, leaving nearly all of the effort in JoAnn’s hands. Although I suspect JoAnn actually enjoyed cleaning, sanding, masking, and painting this car, and then affixing and highlighting all the hoopla detailing, I also know that JoAnn (and her husband) also expended an extraordinary amount of time and effort to transform a car “so ugly that only a mother could love,” into an attractive, eye-catching asset for Lone Star College-Kingwood.
Lone Star College-Kingwood owes JoAnn a round of applause, and her diligence, hard work, and creativity truly make her deserving of Catch of the Month.
