Instructional Lab Rules
1.) Please do not allow Students to bring food or drinks into any of the computer labs at any time.
2.) Software is not to be installed by the Students or the Faculty in any of the classrooms without the express permission of the Kingwood Data Center. (Yes Games are included as software)
3.) Please do not allow students to remain in classrooms after class is over without the teacher or the Lab assistant being present. Also, there may come times when it will be necessary to ask anyone staying after class to leave if the Data Center needs to work in the classroom.
4.) Students are allowed to save files on the hard drive but they must be reminded that it is considered volatile information and should space be needed student files will be the first items deleted from the drive.
5.) For Security reasons Nobody should be opening or looking inside a computer in the classrooms except the Kingwood Data Center personnel.
6.) Please make sure that the students are aware that the Student volume on drive N is an open-access volume. Anyone can read, edit, or delete any files that are on that volume. Also a week after the end of each semester, all files are deleted from the volume.
7.) If there is a problem with one of the computer stations in the classroom, please send an E-mail to
Kingwood.servicedesk@lonestar.edu. If E-mail is inaccessible, then send a written request through the inter-office mail system to the Information Technology Services or contact the Lone Star College-Kingwood service desk line at 1400.
