Test Center Rules for Students
  • No paper tests will be administered within one hour of closing time and/or time allotted by instructor to complete the test. Since most online exams are allotted approximately 2-hour time limits, students taking online exams must be in the Testing Center no later than 2 hours prior to closing.
  • Students must sign in on the Test Center log sheet before taking a test.
  • Students must know their instructor’s name, the course number, and the test title.
  • Students must show a photo ID. For most, that will be their Texas Driver’s License, passport, or student ID with picture. If the student does not have an ID (i.e. lost or stolen), only the testing instructor can verify his/her identity.
  • Students will be informed of any testing time limits. When a student’s time is up, he or she must surrender the test to the test administrator.
  • Students will be asked to leave all books, backpacks, purses, cell phones, etc. in lockers located within the Testing Center.
  • Students must furnish their own supplies, except for scratch paper and pencils.
  • Once students begin testing, they are not allowed to leave the testing room under any circumstance prior to completion their test.
  • Talking is not permitted in the Testing Room.
  • Students taking the same test may not sit near each other while taking the test.
  • An Incident Form will be used to report improprieties or any unusual occurrences. The test administrator will document the incident on the Incident Form, along with the student’s name, date and time the incident occurred, providing a copy to the instructor.
  • When students are finished, tests are returned to the test administrator who places tests in the instructor’s out file. Under no circumstances will students be allowed to remove tests or scratch paper used for the test from the Test Center.

Students may not inspect a test prior to taking it!

Students are expected to:
  • Provide a valid photo ID (Texas Driver’s License, passport, or student ID with picture). If the student does not have an ID (i.e. lost or stolen), only the testing instructor can verify his/her identity.
  • Know the instructor’s name, the course name and number, and the test title or number.
  • Furnish their own scantrons and other supplies.
  • Lock all belongings (including purses and cells phones) in Testing Center lockers while taking tests.
