Counseling Services
Change, stress and self-development are all a part of college life. Lone Star College-Kingwood offers free confidential counseling services by appointment to help students manage academic and personal demands more effectively while gaining self-understanding and direction. All counseling services are available to current Lone Star College-Kingwood students.
Services Provided by Lone Star College-Kingwood Counselors
- Academic Counseling: To assist in the selection of appropriate courses to streamline the pursuit of your short and long term academic goals.
- Career and Educational Counseling: To assist in exploring potential vocational direction while learning more about yourself and your place in the workforce.
- Personal-Social Counseling: To help examine concerns which interfere with your personal growth and development or relationships with others.
- Referral: To provide resource information and referral to outside agencies for ongoing assistance with personal and emotional concerns.
How do Counselors help?
Counselors are professionals who have been trained to assist individuals by:
- Helping people understand themselves, their abilities and potential.
- Helping people through changing circumstances and transitions from one stage in life to the other.
- Helping people grow in the midst of personal crisis or despite lack of resources.
- Helping people set goals, overcome barriers, access resources and plan fulfilling, productive lives.

With our Ask A Counselor feature, Lone Star College-Kingwood Academic Counselors will respond to your questions related to academic issues. We will respond as quickly as possible, however, please allow 1-2 days for a response.
