FAQs

Frequenly Asked Questions
Why should I provide my employees with training?
Today’s rapidly changing workplace means that employees are required to use and understand increasingly more complex resources to efficiently perform their job. They need continuous training to ensure they stay up-to-date on the latest technology and management-related skills to prevent their skills from becoming obsolete.
How does my business benefit?

a. You won’t need an internal staff dedicated to training. Outsourcing it to us could save you the equivalent of several positions in your human resources department.

b. If your training takes place on our campus, you won’t need to invest in training space and equipment in your facility.

c. You’ll stay competitive and efficient, and possibly gain an edge, with a highly skilled workforce.

d. Your employees will quickly be up-to-speed on new equipment, technology and other workplace related skills, substantially reducing or eliminating downtime due to lack of knowledge.

What if I need to use proprietary or confidential information?
Our trainers will learn your materials first, and then train your employees. Rest assured they will safeguard all proprietary and confidential information you provide.
What will a training program cost?

When establishing a training program, in many cases you will have the option of either developing a non-credit course or a credit course, . Non-credit courses offer the greatest degree of flexibility. Most customized classes will be non-credit, and developed solely to meet the unique needs of your business. Your Center staff training contact will provide you with a final price once you and she have determined the scope of your training needs.

Credit courses are billed at the current Lone Star College-Kingwood rate per credit hour per employee/student. The number of credit hours associated with your training program depends on what your needs are, but will typically range from 1 to 3 hours (equivalent to 15-45 clock hours of training).

What if I have a very fixed and/or limited budget for training?
Don’t assume you can’t afford it. Let’s talk about what your needs are first. You may not be able to do everything that you want, but probably more than you think.
